LOCAL STATISTICS SHOW MADISON HOUSEHOLDS UNPREPARED FOR EMERGENCIES
News Conference to Launch Emergency Preparedness Education Program
Monday, September 26, 11:00 a.m. at Segoe Park

MADISON – Findings of a survey conducted by a coalition of Madison area public health and safety partners have found Madison area households to be alarmingly unprepared to deal with emergencies or disasters.

A news conference to review survey results and launch a new public emergency preparedness campaign is scheduled for Monday September 26 at Segoe Park.

The news conference, previously scheduled for September 8, was delayed in deference to the ongoing disaster on the gulf coast. As Hurricane Rita threatens, we are reminded that disaster is unscheduled and preparedness is the best way to mitigate the aftereffects.

Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and Fire Chief Debra Amesqua will be among the speakers at Monday’s event.

What: News Conference introducing emergency preparedness campaign and
review of emergency preparedness survey results.

When: 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26th

Where: Segoe Park, 502 South Segoe Road, corner of Segoe & Berwyn
